History of using of umbilical cord blood by clients of HEMAFUND

HEMAFUND united several governmental medical institutions of Ukraine for National umbilical cord blood programme implements and coordinates it. Owing to this programme, more than 400 children with prenatally diagnosed congenital defects of heart have been successfully operated using their own cord blood. Over 30 children with congenital nervous system defects have received treatment with their own cord blood.

HEMAFUND provides free of charge cord blood collection, procession and logistics while Ukrainian Children Cardiac Center and State Institution “Institute of Neurosurgery named after acad. A.P. Romodanov of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” are operating children for their congenital defects. According to the surgeons, umbilical stem cells provided faster and better rehabilitation and condition improvement for children.
